The Mook |
Many people who bought the Mook
emailed me several compliments about this publication. The only complaint I
got was, "Make it available in English!!" Yes, I hear
you loud and clear. I am willing to create an English version, but I need a
publisher who can not only print English documents, but distribute them worldwide!
The mook is a Japanese publication created in 1996 by Kyodo Press, a book department
of Japan's biggest news service.
It is 8" by 11", and more than 50 of the 170 pages are
in color. There are many beautiful photos of the duo. Everything is professionally
done, as it is mass-produced and distributed all over Japan.
Though it is written in Japanese, any Carpenters fan
can enjoy looking at the photos. Non-Japanese fans
use it as a reference as
this is the only publication which features a complete discography of Carpenters
Japanese releases.If you know of other fans around you, see if they own a copy
of the Mook, and check it out! You might want to
have your very own copy.
The Mook is authorized by Richard Carpenter.
Here's what he says about it in his own writing-->>
contents:
<How can I get a copy?>
+As of December 2002 it is no longer available fron me nor from the publisher
as they are completely sold out.
+Please try eBay or any other sources for "used" copies.
<How much is it?>
+Japanese retail price was about US$13. It used to cost US$26 including
shipping. You should be able to find a used copy under $25.
